Getting started

What is Lingroove and how does it work?
Lingroove helps you learn a language through songs and films. Search for any song in the built-in music search, import it, and the NLP pipeline extracts vocabulary by part of speech, adds translations, and attaches the lyric line each word came from. Organise songs into playlists, study with built-in spaced-repetition flashcards, and export Anki decks whenever you like.
Which languages are supported?
Full vocabulary extraction and translation are available for Spanish, English, French, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, Korean, and German. You can set multiple learning languages from your profile and tell Lingroove your native language so translations always appear in the right direction.
How do I import a song?
Three ways: (1) Use the search bar at the top of any page to find a song and click to import it directly. (2) Go to Import → paste a lyrics URL from a supported site. (3) Paste raw lyrics text manually. Once imported, Lingroove analyses the song automatically.
Can I import movies or TV shows?
Yes — Pro subscribers can import movie and TV subtitles via the Import page. Search for any title, select a subtitle language, and Lingroove downloads and analyses it the same way it does song lyrics.

Features

How does the Anki export work?
Each vocabulary word becomes a flashcard. The front shows the word and its part of speech; the back reveals the translation, the lyric context line, and album art. Exporting generates an .apkg file you can import straight into Anki, or a TSV for manual import.
What is the built-in flashcard study?
Lingroove has a spaced-repetition study mode built in — no Anki required. Create a deck, add vocabulary from any song or playlist, and study with the Review button. Cards are scheduled automatically based on how well you know each word.
What are community playlists?
Any public playlist you create is visible to other Lingroove users on the Discover page. You can like and browse community playlists and add their vocabulary to your own decks.

Plans & billing

Is there a free trial?
Yes. All new subscribers get a 7-day free trial with full Pro access. Your card is required to start but you will not be charged until day 8. Cancel any time before that and you will never pay.
What does the Free plan include?
The Free plan includes 5 song imports per month, up to 3 playlists and 3 decks total, unlimited flashcard creation, and 10 Anki exports per month. Movie imports and AI translations are Pro only.
What does Lingroove Pro include?
Pro gives you unlimited song and movie imports, unlimited playlists and decks, AI-powered context-aware translations, unlimited Anki exports, and the 👑 PRO badge on your profile. Billed at $10/month or $96/year (20% off).
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Go to Settings → Billing → Manage subscription to open the Stripe billing portal. Cancelling takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep Pro access until then.
What happens to my playlists and decks if I downgrade?
Nothing is deleted. If you have more playlists or decks than the free tier allows, the older ones stay accessible and the newer ones are locked until you upgrade again.
Can I switch between monthly and annual billing?
Yes. Open the Stripe billing portal from Settings → Billing. Stripe prorates any remaining balance when you switch.

Account

How do I delete my account?
Go to Settings → Account → Delete account. This starts a 30-day grace period during which you can log back in to cancel. After 30 days all your data is permanently and irreversibly deleted.
Can I make my profile private?
Yes. Toggle the private profile option in your user settings. A private profile hides your playlists from Discover and shows only a placeholder to other users.
