Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Lingroove is a language-learning tool that lets you import song lyrics and movie subtitles, extract vocabulary, and build Anki flashcard decks. These pages are operated by the Lingroove team.

2. Data we collect

When you create an account we collect:

• Your email address and username
• A hashed version of your password (never stored in plain text)

When you use the app we store:

• Songs, subtitles, and lyrics you import
• Playlists and vocabulary you create
• Flashcard decks and spaced-repetition study history
• Follow relationships between users

We do not collect payment information, track you across other websites, or run advertising.

3. How we use your data

• To provide and operate the Lingroove service
• To personalise your study experience (spaced repetition, streak tracking)
• To enable social features (public profiles, following, discovering playlists)
• To improve the product by understanding how features are used in aggregate

We do not sell your data to third parties.

4. Third-party services

Lingroove connects to external services to deliver its features. Payment processing is handled by Stripe — Lingroove never sees or stores your card details. See Stripe's privacy policy.

Song searches and lyric lookups are sent to music data partners to retrieve track metadata and lyrics. Movie and TV searches are sent to an entertainment metadata provider. Vocabulary words are sent to translation services to generate definitions; Pro subscribers' context-aware translations are processed by an AI language model. None of these requests include your personal account information.

We do not share your name, email, or account data with any third party beyond what is strictly necessary to operate the service.

5. Data storage and security

Your data is stored in an encrypted database hosted on a cloud platform. Passwords are hashed and never stored in recoverable form. Access is protected with secure tokens that expire after a fixed period.

We take reasonable measures to protect your data, but no system is completely secure. Please use a strong, unique password.

6. Public and private content

Your profile and playlists may be set to public or private. Public profiles and playlists are visible to all Lingroove users. Study progress, flashcard decks, and imported songs are private to your account.

7. Your rights

You can:

• Update your username and profile information at any time in your account settings
• Make your profile private to hide it from other users
• Delete your account and all associated data via Settings → Account → Delete account. This starts a 30-day grace period; after that all data is permanently removed.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of Lingroove after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
